Mel fell in love with pole during her first class in 2007 and made it her goal to become an instructor. With no fitness or dance background she worked hard to understand the body, learn how to teach students safely and began teaching the same year she turned 40. She is one of the founding partners of the Salt Mine and loves bringing in Pole Stars and Master Trainers to share with all the students and studios Utah. She loves the Liquid Motion methodology because it gives her a beautiful vocabulary with which to create movement short stories or novels! In addition to her Liquid Motion 1.0 certification, Mel is AFAA Group Exercise Certified, PFA Pole Fitness Certified in Levels 1 - 4, XPERT levels 1-2 Trained, TRX certified and has completed course work for STOTT Pilates Mat and Reformer - Essential and Intermediate levels. Mel loves to teach brand new pole babies and watch them grow. She also manages the Salt Mine’s Instructor-In-Training program and encourages all fitness and movement instructors to keep learning and growing along with their students.
